Research Interests
- Investigating structural brain plasticity using voxel-based analysis of MRI data
- Longitudinal and cross-sectional differences in functional brain connectivity using functional MRI
- Relationship between physiological parameters, cognitive markers, and brain structure and connectivity using voxel-wise analysis of structural and functional MRI data
- Focus on fronto-temporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD)
Available PhD projects
In collaboration with Professor Schroeter, head of Cognitive Neuropsychiatry group at MPI and consultant at the Clinic for Cognitive Neurology at the University Hospital Leipzig, we are examining the dynamics of structural and functional brain changes in frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) using MRI data from the multi-centric FTLD consortium. Our research specifically focuses on exploring differences in brain structure and connectivity among various FTLD subtypes and their potential relationship with cognitive parameters obtained through standardized neurocognitive tests. Additionally, potential PhD candidates will utilize AI techniques for disease classification and differentiation based on structural and functional MRI.
