German Bank Account
The most common form of a bank account in Germany is a “Girokonto”. Banking services differ greatly as do the fees banks charge, so it’s worth comparing them beforehand. We are pleased to arrange an appointment with an English speaking bank employee for you.
Documents required to open an account usually include:
- passport (and copy),
- proof of residence in Leipzig, and
- confirmation of working contract/scholarship
Please contact the MPI CBS international office for support with opening a bank account.
