Main Focus

I am interested in understanding how our brain transforms simple visual input into complex representations of the visual world. Specifically, I aim to explore how visual-perceptual information, compared to higher-level semantic information, contributes to our mental and neural representations of animals, humans, and objects. To address these questions, I am focusing on large-scale naturalistic approaches, combining psychological, neuroscientific, and computational methods, and including both sighted and congenitally blind participants.
