Research Interests
Our central scientific thesis is that the brain's intrinsic organization and adaptive plasticity, in response to living life, injury, perturbation, disease, or developmental strain across the lifespan, is both protective and a risk for, or expression of, pathology. Understanding the neurobiological principles that govern this adaptivity, from human network dynamics down to causal mechanisms in animal models, is the throughtline connecting our research programs and clinical partnerships. This mission is carried by six interlinked research programs; spanning network dynamics and computational neuroscience, developmental and large-cohort data science, evolutionary neuroscience, precision imaging, and ERC-funded social health research.
