Our research group aims to gain insight in the neural coding properties underlying key aspects of human intelligence. Particularly, we are interested in how the brain forms and represents abstract conceptual knowledge and how these representations are used for learning, reasoning, and novel problem solving. To address these questions, we use a combination of cognitive measures, behavioral paradigms and non-invasive brain-imaging methods (e.g. fMRI). Potential PhD projects will fall within one of the above-mentioned topics. The specifics of a project will be discussed closer to the starting date of the PhD position and can also be developed jointly with the candidate
