1st IMPRS CoNI Summer School

at University College London, UK from 09-11 September 2024

The 1st Summer School of the International Max Planck Research School on Cognitive NeuroImaging (IMPRS CoNI) will take place from 09-11 September 2024 as a joint event of the Faculty of Brain Sciences at University College London, UK and the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Leipzig, Germany.

The Summer School will bring together well-known scientists, postdocs and early career researchers from all over the world to enlighten and discuss some key topics of Cognitive Neuroscience and Cognitive NeuroImaging. The organization committee has invited a wide range of renowned scientists from around the globe as well as local speakers from UK.

Lectures will cover the following areas:

• Interaction and communication
• New challenges in cognitive neuroimaging
• Translational neuroscience and mental health

A transversal programme will also cover general, non-thematic topics: skills planning; academic/non-academic career pathways; shaping research cultures; work-life balance. We will also offer small group experimental design workshops. Furthermore, participants are invited to present their current work in form of a poster. All posters will be shared in interactive poster sessions with other students and poster judges. The best experimental designs and the best posters will be awarded with prizes.

Participants: The summer school is broadly targeted at PhD students in cognitive neuroimaging and related areas. It will also be relevant to postdoctoral research workers, particularly early-stage researchers. In addition to doctoral researchers from the IMPRS on Cognitive NeuroImaging at MPI CBS and the Faculty of Brain Sciences at UCL, we cordially invite (post)doctoral researchers from external institutions to join the summer dchool. We will offer 30-35 places for each group. External participants need to pay a registration fee of GBP 300.

Credits: Participants receive a certificate of participation. In case of active participation (poster presentation) 2 ECTS are awarded.

Registration fee (external participants): GBP 300; The fee covers attendance to all sessions and meals including a conference dinner on the first day. Your travel costs and accommodation are not included.
